No. YOU are wrong. It is quite clear he had somehow managed to keep the old BL track in his install. He drove around it but as the server had the new track he seemed to bee out of bounds.
Please get your facts straight before posting.
There is a good reason for the renaming. Many programs handle spaces in filenames very badly.
Renaming your sets is a pain but because there are physics updates they propably aren't so good sets anymore.

Now the demo is a better representation of LFS. It has a FWD car a RWD car and a formula (a.k.a. Single-Seater) car.

I was watching an anime series called Initial D and thought: That's cool, wonder if that's hard to do IRL.
Googled for drifting and found the Drift Bible. After watching I though that IRL this was too expensive. Wondered if there was a game I could do this with.
I already knew there were bunch of arcade games and racing games but were there sims?
So I googled a bit for a game with good physics modeling and found LfS. DLd the demo and was amazed that you actually got the whole game in that little package. Tried it a bit with KB and found that it was really hard to drive fast (actually slow but...). Tried with a wheel at a friends place and was hooked.
Couldn't drift to save me life so tried to race. Got fed up with the AI and went online. Wanted to show my appreciation to the devs and bought the S2 license. The rest is future.

The way it's now my DFP makes more sound than the tyres.

What happens if race is restarted while you are returning to pits?
Ofcource it could be set that the race wont start unless everybody is, or has been, in the pits. But there will always be one person who keeps on doing donuts and doesn't care about nothing else.
Other solution is that you could only vote for restart when you are in the pits.
Maybe there should be a fixed time before restart. Ofcourse it would have to depend on the track and vehicle used. It would have to be long enough that you can drive around the track slower than race pace. But short enough that people can't total their car and limp to the pits

Come on! You(singular, referring to Ger Roady) can't be that lazy. You(plural) have to drive through the pits several times if you(plural) are making tweaks to your(plural) tyre pressure/camber/aero/ARB/brakes.
I know you(plural, this plural/singular thing is getting to be a pain in the keyboard) can do all this in the pit screen but it's a pain to warm up the tyres again and again. See how lazy I am? Still I can manage to drive through the pits once to determine a safe pit RPM.

Seriously though, the suspension in LFS can take a very bad beating without much damage. You can cut pretty much any corner as long as it doesn't have armco or the red and white Barriers of Interstellar Travel.
Since the damage model is incomplete and nursing your car such a big part of racing, I believe we will see all this implemented in the future.

It takes only one bloody run through the pits to find out what gear and rpm produce the unvanted DT. Then you just keep it under that rpm.
The time you lose while driving through the pits at 75 instead of 79 is neglible. You lose much more in the first corner when you miss the apex because your tires are cold.
Why don't you want the digital speedo to show 1/10 too? Then you could drive through the pit at 79.9 and gain loads of valuable time.
